Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit the website, Vercel automatically processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, date and time of access, the page requested, the referrer, and browser and operating system details (server log files). This is required to deliver the website and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website).

Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Data is transferred to the USA on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services. Your choice between light and dark mode is stored only locally in your browser.

Contact form and email

If you contact me via the contact form or by email, I process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, message content) and any metadata that comes with it.

The contact form is handled by the service Web3Forms (Web3Creative, India), which forwards your message to me by email. Web3Forms processes the data on Amazon Web Services servers and may send your IP address and email address to the services CleanTalk and Akismet for spam protection. Transfers to third countries are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). Web3Forms stores form submissions for a maximum of three years.

I receive and store emails via mailbox.org (Heinlein Hosting GmbH, Berlin, Germany).

I process inquiry data solely to respond to your inquiry and communicate with you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (processing necessary for steps prior to entering a contract) and/or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling and responding to inquiries).

Recipients

Your data is processed only by the service providers named above (Vercel, Web3Forms, mailbox.org), acting as data processors on my behalf. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection law. Your data is not passed on to any other third parties.

Retention

I retain inquiry data only for as long as necessary to handle your request and to comply with any applicable legal obligations. Once no longer needed, the data is deleted.

Your rights

Under applicable data protection law, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access — you can request information about the data I hold about you
  • Right to rectification — you can request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your data
  • Right to restriction — you can request that processing be restricted
  • Right to data portability — you can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests
