About me
Hi, I’m Stephan. Engineer first, now a medical student and volunteer paramedic, I work where medicine, engineering, and business meet. I developed hardware products at Liebherr (power supplies, lighting, EMC) and PowUnity (project lead for a next-generation e-bike GPS tracker), co-founded Akonus GmbH at 18, and today take hardware teams from prototype to certified series product with Innovationsmanufaktur Pichler.
I study human medicine at the Medical University of Innsbruck and have served in the Red Cross Tyrol emergency medical service since 2018, today as a volunteer paramedic. In 2026 I completed my industrial engineering degree with a thesis on the economic effects of AI in healthcare, and I am finishing a bachelor’s in economics in 2027.

Electronics & Product Developer (freelance) — Innovationsmanufaktur Pichler Stephan
Since November 2024
I take hardware teams from prototype to certified series product: electronics development (power supplies, embedded hardware, CAN bus integration), testing and certification (test setups, EMC measurements, preparing product certifications), and technical project management from requirements to series production.

Project Manager & Electronics Developer — PowUnity GmbH
October 2020 – March 2023
Project lead for the PowUnity GPS Tracker 4G for e-bikes: hardware, interfaces to e-bike systems, certification, and transfer to series production, with market launch in 2023. Technical contact for key-account projects. Started as electronics developer: analysis of e-bike systems, co-development of CAN modules, setting up the internal test lab, organizing product certifications, and third-level support.
Electronics Development Engineer — Liebherr Hausgeräte Lienz GmbH
May 2019 – September 2020
Component owner for wiring and lighting at the Lienz plant and for power supplies across all plants. Responsible for lighting standardization and innovation in all plants, project lead for a power supply development project, and responsible for EMC measurements at the Lienz plant. Technical leadership of 5 employees as "Module Team Leader – Lighting".

Co-Founder & CTO (part-time) — Akonus GmbH
November 2017 – November 2021
Co-founded at 18 with two friends to develop a conical Bluetooth speaker together with a development partner in the Netherlands. Responsible for electronics and product development, the patent application, the funding application (Tyrol initiative funding), and the technical side towards partners. Prototype completed; the project was discontinued in 2021.
